 Many people find that they want to do some work once they retire. This can be for many reasons, apart from the fact they need a bit of extra cash! The reasons may be:

• Wanting to maintain the social aspect of work

• Feeling part of a team

• Wanting to contribute

• Having a structure to life

• Keeping the brain active

• Keeping physically active

• Having a purpose

• Having an 'identity'

One method of doing this is turning something you enjoy doing but have never been paid for into a way of earning some money and also achieving one or more of the above, or other, benefits.

Let's assume you enjoy one or more of the following:

• Cleaning

• Ironing

• Walking the dog

• Sewing/dressmaking

So think about advertising in your local shop and/or newspaper, offering your services. You can do as much or as little as you like, when you like and you will achieve what you want from work.
