You may want to organise a party that is completely different.
If you don’t want a ‘conventional’ party at home or some
alternative venue, there are a number of alternatives.
One idea is to write to your friends individually and ask them
to take you somewhere they like to go – a favourite walk, a
restaurant, a lovely view or whatever. You pay for each trip so
instead of paying for a large party you fund a series of
individual outings. You can keep celebrating for months by doing
this!
Alternatively, if your friends would like to share the party
with you, there is always the more common but still somewhat
different Safari Party, where you wander round to different
people’s houses, having a different course and maybe some
entertainment at each one.
Taking a trip somewhere is always a popular option. If you,
or the person for whom you are organising the celebration, is a
keen sports fan, take a trip to see his/her favourite team in
action, followed by a celebratory (or the opposite!!) meal. If
he/she is a theatre or opera buff, take them to a show and a
meal. There are any number of trips to take depending on likes
and passions.
The London Eye is a
great place to go at the start (or maybe the end) of a
celebration. You can reserve a capsule, have
champagne in it and use the Eye
as an integral part of the celebration.
For something even more different, how about one of these?
- Ballooning
- Helicopter flying lesson
- Trip in a Gypsy Moth
- A day at a spa
- Driving a Ferrari
- Introduction to body flying – in a wind tunnel
- Going backstage in a West End theatre
If you think one of these or something like it might be a
good idea, go to
our Celebrating and Gifts page in the Laterlife Department Store
Finally, how about the increasingly popular Riverboat Shuffle?
You take a boat trip down the river, enjoy the views, eat, drink
and dance the evening away. Take a look at
www.boat-trips.co.uk/pc/pc1a.htm to see what it’s all
about.
If none of these ideas fire you up, get your grey matter onto
the case and come up with your own ideas for organising a party
that is exciting and memorable celebration. Post your ideas in
the
Laterlife Cafe forum
if you have got any ideas, so that you can share them with
others.
